At Biggleswade Pentecostal Church, we believe that our purpose on earth is to continue the work of Jesus Christ.
With that in mind our purpose is:
To reach up to God in every area of our lives; to become more like Christ, to serve one another and to encourage each other to do the same, in order to reach out to the community around us with God’s love, pointing others towards our Lord.
“reach up to God in every
area of our lives” – worship
Our whole lifestyle should be pleasing to God, not just the songs we
sing in a service, and so whatever we do should be done in an attitude
of worship.
“become more like Christ” –
discipleship
The Christian life is a journey, during which we should grow and
develop – learning and becoming more like Jesus Christ in the way we
think, speak and act.
“serve one another” –
ministry
We are to follow Christ’s example and be willing to serve each other
using our gifts and skills, which will help the church develop and
grow. Ministry is practical as well as spiritual.
“encourage each other” –
fellowship
We can do very little alone, and so we need to work together as a
church, but even more so, take the time to build relationships with our
brothers and sisters, to provide a loving, caring and encouraging
family environment.
"reach out to the community”
– evangelism
By sharing God’s love with others in practical ways and telling them
how God has changed our lives, we will show them the amazing benefits
of knowing Jesus.
