Christmas
Family Service
We celebrated the Sunday before Christmas with an all age service based
around the Nativity story, but with involvement from everyone. There
were numerous presents to open by members of the congregation, which
revealed part of the story, or which carol we would sing next. It was a
great time, enjoyed by all.

Christingle
Service
On Sunday 16th December, we held our first ever Christingle Service. A
Christingle is made of an orange (representing the world), a red ribbon
round the orange (representing the blood of Jesus, which is a reminder
of the Easter message), four cocktail sticks (for the 4 seasons) with
sweets and fruit on (representing the good things that the earth
provides). Finally there is a candle which represents Jesus as the
light of the world, to show everyone how to live. In the interests of
safety, the church used glow sticks instead! Trevor talked about how
the Christmas story was full of surprises, with the use of some
surprising pictures. There was also a collection for the work of the
Children’s Society, which raised over #87.
