The first Pentecostal meeting in Biggleswade was in St George’s Hall in 1936. Following that, The Penial Chapel in London held meetings in the town until 1942. The Biggleswade Pentecostal Church had its origins in a housegroup meeting in the home of Norman and June Taylor back in 1968. There were various degrees of success until in 1980 it was decided to take a step of faith and hire the Labour Hall to hold midweek meetings. This carried on until June 1982, when Sunday meetings commenced.

The Biggleswade Pentecostal Church was born, and in 1985 they had fulfilled all the criteria required by The General Council of the Assemblies of God and the church applied for official recognition as an AOG Assembly. Provisional acceptance was given and a Certificate of Fellowship issued on 1st August 1985.
The current pastor, Trevor Homfray-Cooper, with his wife Zoê and their children, Martha and Josiah, started serving at the church in July 2005.
In June 2007, the church celebrated its 25th anniversary, with a special weekend, including a baptism service and two special meetings on Sunday. The guest speakers at the weekend were Pastors John and Doreen Jessop.
From September 2008 the church moved out of the hall for Sunday morning services, due to a lack of space. The meetings on Sunday are now held at Stratton Upper School - click here for more information on the new location.
